After some dry runs near the base, we rigged up a Tyrolean system at Coire Mhic Nobaill and practised raising and lowering a stretcher above the gorge. A quick tour of the new base, which is almost finished, completed a full day for the team.
HELICOPTER TRAINING, TORRIDON, 2 SEPTEMBER 2018
R951 visited for helicopter familiarisation and training today. Afterwards, we got stuck into some rigging training just down the road from the base.
RIVER EWE, 5 AUGUST 2018
The team had a swift water rescue training session today. The River Ewe at Poolewe was the venue and we practised defensive water travel and rescue techniques before a brew and cake at the local café!
